So today, it hit me. I’m finished actively working for the Government of Canada. Breathe…
It is bittersweet. It is unsettling. It is sadness. It is joy. It is so many things all coming together to create chaos. I’m done.
And strangely, after all the build-up, it feels a little deflating. I think I expected a crescendo. Instead, there is just… quiet.
28 years of serving the Canadian public. I have been proud and honoured to do so. That chapter is now closed. Or at least that storyline. Maybe the next chapter will still include serving Canadians in some capacity. Stay tuned.
What I do know. I am grateful. For the opportunity. For the trust. For the chance… to impact, even a little bit, people and communities from coast to coast to coast. Thank you for accepting me. Thank you for the wisdom you have shared with me. Thank you.
Some things I know that will be coming. Adventure. Bike rides. Sourdough (say hi to Blinky). Uncertainty. Worry. Joy. Happiness. Freedom.
What that story actually looks like will be a nail biter. Or not. Maybe it will be peaceful and easy. Or maybe it will be chaotic and difficult.
One thing I know – I am ready to see what comes next.
Care to join me as I find out?
